Substitute High School Career Coach – PRN Contractor

The Avenue Scholars program offers a unique approach to education and career preparation by embedding our curriculum and programming directly within our partnering high schools. This model allows us to build meaningful relationships with students and support them throughout their high school experience as they prepare for life beyond graduation.

To ensure continuity of programming when our Career Coaches are unavailable, we are seekingon a PRN (as-needed) basis Substitute High School Career Coachesto provide classroom coverage at our partner high schools.

As a Substitute High School Career Coach, you will engage with Avenue Scholars during theirjunior and/or senior year of high school, delivering Avenue Scholars curriculum, facilitating engaging classroom experiences, and supporting students as they explore their strengths, interests, and future career possibilities.

The high school experience is where students begin their Avenue Scholars journey — discovering their potential, exploring their passions, developing confidence, and realizing that a successful and fulfilling career is within their reach.In this role, you’ll help ensure that journey continues even when a regular Career Coach is unavailable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate aboutyouth development, education, career readiness, and helping young people recognize and achieve their potential. PRN (as-needed) assignments are scheduled based on program needs and availability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant education, human services, or workforce development field is required.

• Possesses or meets eligibility criteria to obtain a Nebraska educator’s certificate/permit with secondary grade-level endorsement or equivalent is required.

• 2+ years of experience in education, human services, or workforce development is required.

• 2+ years of experience providing services to youth ages 16-22 is preferred.

• Bilingual skills are preferred.
