Coordinator, Projects and Special Initiatives

Clarkson Institute is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and mission-driven Coordinator to help bring the Foundation’s projects, initiatives, and events to life. The Coordinator will keep projects moving, coordinate details and logistics, support community and organizational partners, and help ensure that our projects and initiatives are thoughtfully planned and successfully executed.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position offers a unique blend of project management, relationship management, and administrative
responsibilities. Core responsibilities include:

Project Coordination

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and operational and administrative support for assigned
    projects, initiatives, and events
  • Track project activities, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and follow-up items to help
    ensure work stays on schedule and to maintain momentum.
  • Assist with research, planning, and implementation to turn ideas and plans into action
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with project contributors, internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Assistant to ensure alignment across schedules, operational priorities, and cross-team workflows
  • Support the PR & Communications Manager with communication planning and materials related to assigned projects; assist with ideation and/or content development that highlights the assigned projects

Events

  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and meetings
  • Assist with event communications and outreach, including invitations, agendas/programs, promotional materials, and outreach efforts.
  • Provide on-site support at events
  • Assist with post-event follow-up, documentation, and evaluation

Connecting and Learning

  1. Develop a strong understanding of the Foundation’s mission, values, and areas of focus and bring that understanding to day-to-day work and decision-making
  2. Develop positive and productive working relationships with project partners
  3. Stay informed about the work of nonprofit and community-based organizations, emerging initiatives, trends, and opportunities within the Foundation’s focus areas
  4. Share relevant insights, opportunities, and information with the Foundation team to help inform programs, initiatives, communications, and other organizational priorities
  5. Represent the Foundation at community meetings and events to strengthen the
    Foundation’s presence in the community as requested

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, communications, public administration, business/management, public health (or other related field) or associate's degree and directly related demonstrated equivalent experience

- 3+ years of prior professional experience in project coordination/project management, program coordination, nonprofit administration, or other closely related experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization, foundation, or social and community services organization

- Experience supporting collaborative or cross-organizational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders a plus!


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Basic Graphic design abilities, including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva preferred.
  • A genuine interest in the Foundation's mission and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in the community
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment with shifting priorities and an all-hands-on-deck mindset
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively with minimal supervision and direction
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • A positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships; excellent customer service
  • This position will occasionally be required to attend meetings and events that take place at alternative locations. Dependable transportation is required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required with advance notice


Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer an excellent benefits package for full-time employees, including health insurance, PTO, retirement contribution match, wellness benefits, professional development reimbursement, and more.
The estimated annual salary range for this position starts at $68,000 per year.
