The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to humanitarian crises worldwide, helping people whose lives are disrupted by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and rebuild. Founded in 1933, the organisation operates in more than 40 countries and 29 cities across the United States.
In 2024, the IRC delivered 10.6 million primary health care consultations and enrolled 1.6 million children and youth in learning programmes. It provided access to clean water for 2.8 million people and supported over 60,000 refugees and asylum seekers resettling in the U.S. The organisation aims to deliver critical emergency assistance within 72 hours of a crisis.
