The Andrew M. and Jane M. Bursky School of Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis seeks a distinguished senior scholar to hold the Hamilton Family Distinguished Professorship in Food and Nutrition.

Launched in January 2025 under the leadership of Dr. Sandro Galea, the Bursky School is the university's first new school in more than a century, supported by a $200 million philanthropic commitment. This endowed professorship will advance understanding of the relationships among food systems, nutrition, and population health, and will help build an interdisciplinary hub bridging nutrition science, agricultural systems, environmental health, and policy.

Responsibilities and qualifications:

  • A distinguished research portfolio with national and international standing
  • A proven ability to convene cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaborators across academia, government, industry, and communities
  • The senior academic stature to anchor and grow an interdisciplinary research hub
  • Contribution to teaching and mentoring across the MPH, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs
  • A rigorous research agenda combined with active public engagement
