The VP must be able to thoughtfully engage high-net-worth individuals and families who provide the funding for critical research thorough sophisticated and complex gifts. Their aptitude for, and experience as, a successful relationship builder and the ability to become a trusted source of information about Alzheimer's disease will be essential. They must exhibit strong professional judgment and exemplify the mission, core values and vision of Cure Alzheimer's Fund including a compassionate, professional, and donor-centric demeanor in all communications with donors and other stakeholders.

Cure Alzheimer's Fund (CureAlz) is dedicated to funding research with the highest probability of preventing, slowing, or reversing Alzheimer's disease. Frustrated with the slow pace of research about the disease, its founders applied their experience in venture capital and corporate startups to build an organization specifically designed to accelerate research, make bold bets, and eradicate the disease. The organization's unwavering focus on finding a cure is made possible by its Board of Directors, Trustees, and Sustaining Partners who empower CureAlz operations and allow 100% of gifts to support their research program.

In 2025, Cure Alzheimer's Fund received a $50 million gift from The Cardinal Family Fund — the largest contribution in the organization's 21-year history of advancing Alzheimer's disease research. Partnering closely with the anonymous donor to match strategic organizational priorities with their philanthropic vision, CureAlz proposed and launched a five-year initiative to drive scientific progress across three key programmatic priorities that addressed three distinct yet inter-related challenges and opportunities created by the unprecedented disruptions in U.S. government funding.

This is just one example of the extraordinary generosity that allowed Cure Alzheimer's Fund to achieve a record high in research grants, deploying $38.3 million—a 27% increase above 2024. Their program supported 167 projects and 187 investigators advancing work across the full spectrum of Alzheimer's research.

Since its founding in 2004, Cure Alzheimer's Fund has contributed more than $280,000,000 to Alzheimer's research. Projects they have funded have led to important breakthroughs, deepened the understanding of Alzheimer's disease, and brought the world one step closer to a cure.

A bachelor's degree and at least ten years of frontline fundraising experience, including a minimum of five years of managing teams, is required for this position. The VP must be able to travel frequently (25%) as needed, including overnight trips and weekends. Cure Alzheimer's Fund will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds.
