Visitor Services Associate

Position Summary:

El Museo Latino seeks an outgoing, reliable individual to join our team.The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for greeting visitors and providing customer services and general information about the museum.

El Museo Latino, located in Omaha, Nebraska, engagesthepublicinthe history, traditions, culture, and arts of Latin America. We arestewards of a collection, and interpreters of Latino arts and artifacts.Establishedin1993, El Museo Latino shares the history of Latinos through interactive exhibits, original arts and artifacts, and public programs.

Responsibilities:

>Interactswithallvisitorsdeliveringexemplarycustomerserviceandaccurate information about the Museum.

>Maintainsthemuseum'sfrontdesk,includingkeepinganorderlyworkstation, answering phone calls and directing them totheappropriate person whennecessary.

>Manages the day-to-day activities at the front desk, including operating the cash register in accordance with proper cash handling procedures, assistingininventorycontrol,andhelpingtomaintainanorderly and organized main Lobby entrance.

>Performsotherdutiesasassigned.

Knowledge,Skills,andAbilities:

>Customerserviceandcashhandlingexperiencepreferred.

>Knowledge andunderstanding of general museum environment.

>Experiencewithcustomerservice,retail,and/orhospitality.

>Knowledgeable using Microsoft and other computer technology.

>Abilitytoworkaflexibleschedulethatmayincludeevening and weekend assignments.

>Bi-lingual preferred.
