Who are we? Founded in 2023, The Montpelier Performing Arts Hub was created to strengthen Central Vermont through the performing arts, education, community, and economic revitalization. Its mission is to create a state-of-the-art center for performances, lifelong learning, and community gatherings. We are a young, ambitious organization that is ready for its full-time operational leader. To accomplish our mission, we are planning a major renovation of our building, the historic Gary Library of the former Vermont College of Fine Arts, within the next three years.
Who are you? You are eager to represent the Hub at events, in fundraising, and in the community. You’re a curious, detail-oriented, diligent person who is passionate about the arts in Central Vermont. You are excited to dive deeply into the details of operations, and zoom out to maintain donor relationships. You bring a mix of marketing, operations, and development experience. You are a confident manager for a team of operations staff while also having the creativity and intrapreneurial skills to shape the future of the Hub. You want to bring this organization to the next level.

- Minimum 8 years’ professional experience in operations, management, or nonprofit/arts leadership, including at least 3 years supervising staff
- Demonstrated experience preparing and managing organizational budgets
- Experience building and maintaining community, vendor, or partner relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing newsletters, press materials, or public-facing communications
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and teams across departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, as well as project management & marketing platforms
- Able to productively navigate multiple software programs simultaneously
- Strong public speaking skills and comfort representing an organization publicly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performing arts, venue management, or cultural institutions
- Fundraising, grant writing, and grant compliance/reporting experience
- Experience with donor management software (e.g., Little Green Light)
- Experience coordinating logistics for live events, artists, or performances
- Experience working with or reporting to a nonprofit Board of Directors
- Experience coordinating facilities maintenance or capital/renovation projects
- Knowledge of Central Vermont community and cultural landscape
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
A note on qualifications: This role spans several skill areas (finance, marketing, facilities, development) and we don’t expect one person to walk in mastering all of them. Research consistently shows that women and candidates from underrepresented backgrounds are less likely to apply unless they meet every qualification listed, while others apply meeting far fewer. If you’re excited about this role and bring strong experience in some of these areas, we encourage you to apply. We’re committed to training and developing the right candidate.
How to apply?
Please submit your resume and cover letter to kianna@mpa-hub.org.
Priority will be given to applications received by October 15, 2026.
