Position Description: The Associate Producer supports the researching, scheduling, coordination, editing, creation, and execution of compelling video and photo content to drive audience engagement, support revenue goals, and elevate the Nine PBS brand. The ideal candidate is motivated to take on multiple parts of the content creation process with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time and a high attention to detail. The person best suited for this role has a passion for local storytelling and public media.

Primary Responsibilities: The following primary responsibilities are vital to successfully meeting the expectations of this position in an effective and efficient manner. This is not an exhaustive list and areas of focus may fluctuate between the primary and secondary responsibilities, as needed.

    • Support the development and production of multimedia storytelling across broadcast, digital, and social media platforms.

    • Assist with all phases of content creation, including research, outreach, scriptwriting, editing, and post-production.

    • Produce and edit short-form videos, proof-of-performance videos, and other multimedia assets that support organizational goals and audience engagement.

    • Capture and edit photography for organizational needs, including staff headshots, community events, productions, and station activities.

    • Coordinate video production projects by scheduling, organizing shoot logistics, interviewing talent, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

    • Develop video recaps and presentation materials for board meetings, donor events, stakeholder engagements, and other organizational initiatives.

    • Maintain production schedules, project management systems, deliverable tracking, and required public filings.

    • Manage and update databases of community contacts, partners, media professionals, and other key stakeholders.

    • Prepare reports, project documentation, and written communications to support promotional initiatives.

    • Upload, publish, and manage completed content for broadcast, web, social media, and other distribution platforms.

    • Collaborate across departments to create compelling stories and multimedia content that advance the organization’s mission, programs, and community impact.

Secondary Responsibilities: These are additional activities that are expected to be performed within this position.

    • Support in the production of spots, ensuring content meets broadcast and PBS standards.

    • Edit content to align with brand guidelines, messaging, and tone.

    • Stay current with trends in multimedia production, tools, and social platforms to bring fresh, creative ideas to promotion strategies.

    • Assist in story production process with the broader team.

    • Ability to produce short videos or stories for multiple platforms.

    • Collaborate within and across teams and represent the team in needed meetings or events.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, with 1-2 or more years of experience in Video Production or other related fields. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications. Must have skills in advanced video editing, color correcting, and technical knowledge.

Hybrid Schedule: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, typically working up 1-2 days virtually each week, upon approval from supervisor. Must work on-site on Tuesdays, as well as attend all team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and all-staff meetings. Due to the nature of this position, evening and weekend hours will be required periodically to fulfill the needs of this role. Reliable transportation is also required.
