Saint Louis Crisis Nursery is dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families by providing a safe haven for children and support for families during times of crisis. We’re looking for an HR Director who is passionate about people and wants to play a meaningful role in advancing that mission.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an HR professional who can think strategically, build strong relationships, and roll up their sleeves to get things done. The Director, Human Resources will partner closely with organizational leaders to strengthen culture, develop leaders, support employee engagement, and ensure thoughtful, compliant HR practices across the employee lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
Lead and evolve the organization’s HR strategy, policies, and programs
Partner with leaders on employee relations, performance, talent, and organizational development
Build an engaging, supportive workplace where employees can do their best work
Oversee compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR operations
Use data and employee feedback to identify opportunities and improve the employee experience
Serve as a trusted resource to leaders and employees across the organization
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
3+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR leadership or management of HR programs and initiatives
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws
- Experience across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, benefits, compliance, and HR operations
Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience is highly desirable
Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a small, collaborative environment
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
What We Offer
$75,000–$100,000 salary range
