
The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations will plan and manage events specific to the office of alumni relations, manage communications including social media accounts, and work with the director of alumni relations to plan and execute alumni programming. Areas of focus include event planning and promotion, alumni engagement, digital communications, and targeted alumni programming.
Essential Duties:
- Manage event planning (project management, vendor coordination, venue booking, RSVPs, and on-site execution).
- Work with Marketing & Communications to maintain brand consistency and promotional materials.
- Manage social media content and develop strategies for alumni engagement.
- Create and implement strategic engagement plans and conduct personal outreach to alumni.
- Assist with Alumni Board management and the alumni scholarship process.
- Manage alumni communications calendar and draft promotional text.
- Establish post-event follow-up, feedback analysis, and stewardship.
- Supervise student workers and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Three years of experience in planning and coordinating events and/or communications.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), Microsoft Office, and Adobe products.
- Abilities: Ability to work evenings and weekends; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and comply with privacy regulations.
- Preferred: Experience in university advancement/alumni relations and familiarity with Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud NetCommunity.
