OVERVIEW
The Wayzata Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is a community-based arts organization located in the Twin Cities. The WSO brings together accomplished and passionate musicians to engage the community with enlightening and accessible concert presentations.
The WSO is seeking a part-time Managing Director to work in alignment with the Music Director, WSO Board, and various contractors. An ideal candidate must be a people person who demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, is tech-savvy, and possess strong financial acumen. Additionally, the role oversees other WSO contractor roles who support the business operations of the WSO: publicity manager, production manager, development manager, personnel manager, librarian, and concertmaster. The role is the principal business manager and one of the faces for the organization and the primary contact for the orchestra’s venue partners, key donors, and other strategic partnerships.
Location: While much of this work is done remotely, attendance at WSO’s concerts and events is required. Therefore, we are seeking an individual who resides in the metro areas of Minneapolis or St. Paul, Minnesota.
COMPENSATION
The position is a renewable, two-year independent contract role (1099) with variable weekly hours and/or seasonal fluctuations, accompanied by a $1250 monthly stipend ($15,000 annually).
