Through Civic Nebraska’s Civic Health Program, we work to fortify our state’s civic fabric with training and programming for towns, cities, neighborhoods, and citizens. We support people to be connected, informed, and engaged in their communities and state – because when we are connected to one another and to institutions, we are better positioned to solve local problems. Our civic health team grounds this work in an asset-based community development approach – building solutions from gifts, strengths, and aspirations of community members themselves.

The Civic Health Organizer supports communities to tend to their civic health through four pillars of work: building Nebraskans’ knowledge of local institutions and processes, expanding access to participate in civic life, repairing trust in each other and in our institutions, and supporting civic action on the issues and opportunities that matter to everyday Nebraskans.
