The University of Arizona Foundation

2 Directors of Development, Gift Planning

Bryant Group is proud to partner on a resourceful™ engagement with the University of Arizona Foundation for two Directors of Development, Gift Planning.

These Directors are major gift fundraisers serving the Gift Planning team within the Foundation’s central Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (PAE) team. They work with donors, professional advisors and PAE colleagues to facilitate gifts through charitable estate planning vehicles and other complex assets, cultivating prospects for outright and deferred gifts and assisting donors and their advisors with language for wills, trusts and beneficiary designations. Directors also develop personalized strategies for individual, corporate and foundation prospects, partner with campus-based development teams and central PAE resources, support the Old Main Society (the University’s legacy society) and represent the University and PAE at public events.

The ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A graduate or professional degree such as a JD or MBA is preferred, as is professional certification. Fundraising experience in higher education and knowledge of comprehensive donor databases are also preferred. Experience in law, financial services or trust administration and familiarity with planned giving software are valued, though an in-depth understanding of legal and financial matters is not required at the outset. All Directors bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, discretion with confidential information, strong organization and initiative and the flexibility to succeed in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Regular national travel of 10–40% is required.
