Data Analytics Specialist (Part-Time)

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is hiring a part-time Data Analytics Specialist in its Department of Epidemiology. The job is based at the Texas Medical Center campus in Houston, and MD Anderson lists the work location as hybrid.

The specialist works with a principal investigator and research team on cancer epidemiology studies: running the statistical and omics analyses and turning the results into the tables and figures that go into papers and grant applications.

What you will do

• Run statistical analyses of epidemiologic and cancer research data across active study protocols, following established analysis plans
• Analyze molecular and omics datasets, including genome-wide DNA methylation and other high-dimensional data, with quality control and reproducible workflows
• Prepare publication-quality tables, figures, statistical summaries and study reports, and check them for accuracy and completeness
• Write up the methods and results, and keep analysis code organized so others can reproduce the work
• Contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, presentations and grant submissions, including literature review and methods and results sections
• Set priorities with the principal investigator across several ongoing studies and meet publication deadlines

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, statistics, healthcare administration or a related field, and five years of data analysis experience
• Or a master's degree and three years of data analysis experience

A master's degree in one of those fields is preferred.

Part-time, benefits eligible, regular status, day schedule. MD Anderson lists a salary range of $77,500 to $116,500 (midpoint $97,000) and does not say how part-time hours affect it. The role is exempt from overtime and comes without relocation assistance (requisition 183791).
