Ensure services are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and coordinated across departments.

Monitor program performance and participant outcomes to guide improvements.

Develop departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.

Collaborate with organizational leadership on staffing, grant requirements, accreditation, and program sustainability.

Develop and monitor the Programs Department budget.

Build community partnerships and represent TWSH at meetings, coalitions, and professional events.

Partner with Human Resources to support employee participation in required safety training delivered by designated instructors and outside providers.

Participate in the executive on-call rotation as assigned.

What You Bring

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

  • Experience providing direct case management or advocacy services in a human services setting.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.

Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case management or documentation systems.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.

Commitment to TWSH’s mission and trauma-informed, survivor-centered services.

Preferred:

One or more years of case management, advocacy, shelter, or human services experience.

  • Experience supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, or other vulnerable populations.
  • Experience facilitating support groups or educational programming.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based advocacy.

Schedule & Location

This position is based at a confidential domestic violence shelter within St. Louis city limits. Approved schedule options, subject to operational needs and leadership approval, include:

Four 10-hour workdays with one designated day off; or

Five 8-hour workdays with one designated work-from-home day per week.

Occasional evenings, weekends, and schedule adjustments may be required to meet participant, operational, training, grant, or emergency program needs.

Additional Requirements

Required certifications and training—including CPR/First Aid and MOCADSV Advocates’ Academy 2.0—are provided by TWSH at no cost to employees and must be completed within established timeframes.

The role requires navigating stairs, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and responding professionally to participant crises and emergency situations.
