Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve lunch and two snacks daily to Infant, Toddler, and PreK rooms

• Ensure the food served each day is properly documented

• Washes dishes and clean kitchen after each shift

• Create bi-weekly menu that meets USDA Food and Nutrition standards

• Collaborate with the Director to meet special dietary needs

• Place weekly food orders

• Uphold health code and food-safety sanitation standards

• Submit monthly CLiCS food report to the MN Department of Education

Essential Functions

• Willingness to obtain Serve Safe Certification and Certificate of Certified Food Protection Manager

• Work cooperatively and effectively as a team

• Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 5 hours, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive manual tasks

• A competency in technology or willingness to learn

Work Conditions

• Work collaboratively to maintain a clean shared community kitchen space

General Requirements

• Candidates must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma

• Ability to consistently be at work on time for scheduled shifts

• Ability to work regular hours Monday through Friday

• Obtain and pass a background check

• Have current CPR and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain

• Abide by all policies documented in Happy Days Learning Center Employee Handbook
